eSnipe Proxy Setup

eSnipe has worked with eBay to solve our issues rendering our proxy solution unnecessary. If you have already established the proxy, you will need to disable it by reversing the steps for your browser below.

Please see our News and Server Status pages to learn how to provide the verification required by eBay before returning to eSnipe to update your account.

eBay may require that you verify your account with a phone call or text.
Doing so from eSnipe's IP address will help us be able to place bids for you with less trouble.
Follow the steps below to configure your desktop web browser to pass your eBay traffic through eSnipe's servers when verifying your account.

  1. Please go to eBay and logout of your eBay account. If you do this process and it still doesn't work you could try clearing eBay cookies in your browser as well at this step.
  2. Follow the instructions below for your Browser / Operating System to use eSnipe as your proxy server.
  3. Verify that you are using eSnipe's proxy server by refreshing this page.
FAILURE: You are not yet connected through eSnipe's server. We have disabled this service because it is no longer needed. See the notice at the top of this page for instructions.
  4. Go to eBay and at a minimum, log into your eBay account. It would be even better if you manually bid on an item to get the most benefit from this process.
  5. Return to eSnipe and either signup or login. If you get a message about eBay needing to "Confirm your account" then you probably need to return to the previous step and place manual bids on eBay until eSnipe can verify your eBay account successfully.
  6. You can now disable the proxy in your browser by removing the URL you input and saving the settings. Though it doesn't hurt to leave it enabled for a while (a week or so) while you do your normal activity on eBay. Only your eSnipe and eBay traffic goes through eSnipe's servers, nothing else.
