Problems that sniping creates
Delay in the Internet
Heavy traffic over the Internet itself can slow down your bid between your ISP and
eBay. Failures in transmission equipment, or in the servers that relay messages from one
segment of the Internet to the next, can have the same effect.
Each of eSnipe's RovatronTM bidding servers is connected
to a different part of the
Internet through a different ISP installation. Thus a failure in one part of the
Internet will affect only one eSnipe server. The other servers will quickly
detect the problem and take over the affected server's bidding, just as they would if
the eSnipe servers itself had failed.
